Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President and CEO Victor Jose I. Luciano commended the personnel of the CIAC Emergency Services Department (ESD) for providing prompt medical assistance to a passenger who fell sick while aboard an aircraft.
“Very good, commendable,” thus said Luciano to the CIAC medical team that responded to a distress call that assisted Edward Macarilay, 56 years old, who was aboard a King Air flight that landed at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) from Caticlan last May 18.
In his report to Luciano, ESD Manager Federico Primero Jr. said his team responded to a distress call to assist Mr. Macarilay who was on board a King Air aircraft that landed at DMIA. Macarilay was suffering from a renal failure and has diabetes.
Primero also said that his medical team did a job well done in providing assistance to Macarilay who was rushed to the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center upon his arrival at DMIA.
At the same time, Nida Cayanan wife of Edward also expressed her gratitude to the medical team that helped her husband who is suffering from a renal failure and has diabetes.
“Just a simple thanks and appreciation to the wonderful concern of the medical staff who help (us) my husband last May 18, the paramedic did a great job of providing medical assistance to my husband who was immediately brought to the Angeles Medical University Foundation Medical Center,” Cayanan said.
“I was amazed by the promptness attention of the CIAC Medical staff that provided an ambulance to transport my husband to the hospital which saved his life, and most especially the kindness that they have extended to us,” she added.
“To all the staff who did a good job, I am so proud of you guys. More power and God bless,” Cayanan said in an email sent to Luciano.
Luciano said that “This is the kind of service that CIAC is committed of providing passengers and airlines. The Emergency Services Department responded well in that particular emergency situation and in the process were able to help a person in need.”
